World Awaits Academic Consulting is a team of experts, led by Kimberly VanderWeert, with decades of combined experience in American academia, university admissions, grant writing, essay prep, and tutoring. We take a holistic and personalized approach, accepting only a small number of clients and maximizing their success.
Kimberly VanderWeert, the founder of World Awaits, has over ten years of experience specifically in college and university admissions counseling helping students like you maximize their chances of success.

Kimberly earned a B.A. in Community Relations from the University of Michigan and a M.A. in education from the University of Colorado Boulder. She spent several years teaching internationally, developing nationally-adopted English language curriculum and standardized testing materials. In the United States, she taught high school and college-level English in diverse environments, professionally prepared students for college entrance exams, including the ACT and SAT, and helped students craft state-recognized essays and applications. As an international college admissions counselor, Kimberly has successfully enrolled students in top-tier, Ivy, private, and public higher education institutions.
Marlee has over 15 years of experience in higher education, journalism, and business management.

Marlee has spent the majority of her career serving in university administration roles, including Assistant Director of Accountancy, Assistant Director of the College of Business, and Student Success Coach at Metro State University and Lincoln College. With a dual B.A in English and Journalism from and a M.A. in education, Marlee is now dedicated to helping students write their way to success.

Mairead is a writing process expert and performance coach with over 15 years of experience teaching English Language Arts in New York City and San Francisco.

Mairead earned a B.A. in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and attended the Honors Study Program for British Literature at Richmond University in London, England. After relocating to New York City, she began her career in international publishing and education. She then earned a M.A. in Education in New York City at Brooklyn College’s prestigious City College for Teachers. Mairead has TESOL /TESL/TEFL certification and experience coaching students with college essay writing and the admissions process.
Lin is from Guangzhou, China, and is currently residing in Virginia, US. She graduated from Sun Yet-sen University in 2014 with a bachelor degree in management, worked for Meten International Education Group as a WeChat Specialist for 4 years, and is now working part-time with World Awaits as she attends graduate school at George Mason University.
